UN: China Withdraws Its Appeal for Discussion on Kashmir

There were reports that China has appealed to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the second time for discussion on the matter Kashmir in closed doors. However, according to information received by India Today, China withdrew this appeal after much discussion on Monday. French diplomacy sources confirmed that it will not be discussed on Tuesday.

Sources stated, “Today the issue of Kashmir will not be discussed in the Security Council. Our side is very clear: a bilateral solution should be found on the Kashmir issue. We have recently made this point in New York and many times.”

This incident has come before the talks between the special representatives of China and India on the border dispute. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be in Agra on December 21 for the 22nd round of talks between India and China.
