Glasgow: UN Climate Talks In Postponed Until 2021 Due To COVID-19

Britain stated on Wednesday that the United Nations Climate Dialogue (COP26) to be held in Glasgow city in the month of November this year is being postponed until next year because of the COVID-19 epidemic. It has been reported while issuing the government press releases. News agency Xinhua reported, ‘The dates regarding the rescheduled conference in the year 2021, hosted by the UK in Glasgow in collaboration with Italy, will be discussed further with the parties following further discussions.

The press release states that the decision to postpone has been taken by the COP Bureau representatives of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) after discussion with Britain and the Italian partners. “In view of the worldwide effects of the Covid-19, it is no longer possible to undertake an ambitious, COP26 in November 2020,” the release said.
